VIDEO: Mason Greenwood reveals his footballing idol & best quality as ex-Man Utd forward continues to impress in France with Champions League-chasing Marseille

The 23-year-old forward continues to see his own stock rise at Ligue 1 giants Marseille. Greenwood made a move to France in the summer of 2024 when severing ties with Premier League heavyweights Manchester United.

He has one senior cap for England to his name, but is in the process of switching international allegiance to Jamaica. The Reggae Boyz are buying into a skill set that has delivered 18 goals in the 2024-25 campaign.

Greenwood is generating transfer talk once more, as he is linked with clubs across Europe, and has offered an insight into his professional and personal lives. He admits to speaking with his father immediately after games.

Greenwood has also told Marseille’s official media team that his idol growing up was “Brazilian Ronaldo”, while he considers “dribbling” to be his greatest asset - with the tricky winger famed for being comfortable with both feet.

He has also stated that athletics is his favourite sport outside of football, and Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt his biggest hero there, while pizza is his meal of choice and Greece the holiday destination that he would pick over any other.
